First about the Oreo cookies that are peach and grape flavored... Not so good. I don't think I can any longer call myself a lover of ALL cookies, cuz I'm pretty sure I don't love these. Sad.
Yesterday I went out right after work and went to the Hutong (little alleys) that has all all this crazy street food you can eat, ranging from spiders to crickets to starfish to the more normal that I tried of deep fried banana. I live on the wild side, really. I actually had my camera with me for pictures so you'll have to go picture less with this description. To note that I actually took the subway in Beijing at rush hour and lived to tell the tale! It's all about survival of the fittest here - use your elbows! Actually despite the crowds there is attendants for the crowds, lots of security, and it's surprising clean. And a very cheap and efficient way to get around.
After the Hutong we took the subway back to the area closer to the hotel and were looking for a specific bar my friend had read about and wanted to find. We knew the bar was by "Stadium Dog" a hot dog shop in Workers Stadium. We found Stadium Dog, and the sign for the bar was in the same place but... No bar!? Just when we were about to admit defeat the guy working in the hot dog place leads us to a wall, presses a concealed button, and the wall swings open revealing a swanky bar! It was pretty funky, if I do say so myself.
I've got to head off but no post is complete without pictures (you guys aren't here for the words, I know). I have to apologize, I don't have COTD today, so ChOTD will have to stand in...:
KimChi flavoured Lays and Steak flavoured Lays. Kimchi tasted almost like all dressed chips and was pretty darned good :)
